Hands-on sensory trails and movement-based activities designed to help children explore English through sight, hearing, touch, smell, and optionally taste. The activities encourage learners to interact with their environment, describe what they experience, and use simple English naturally through movement, observation, and discovery.
The resource explains how to create different types of sensory trails both indoors and outdoors, including open exploration trails, planned sensory routes, task-based trails, and classroom sense stations. Teachers are guided through setting up activities using simple printable sense markers and directional arrows that can be adapted for classrooms, school grounds, outdoor learning spaces, nature walks, or summer camps.
The resource includes eye, ear, hand, nose, mouth, and directional arrow markers which can be reused to create multiple sensory routes and stations.
This resource is also part of our Young Learners | EFL Resource Pack, which is available to download here.
