Could it have been Lady Macbeth with a poison vial in the crypt? Or Caliban with an axe in the forest?
In Mystery Most Foul, students work in small detective teams to solve the murder of Shakespeare. Using logic, deduction, and teamwork, learners move around the classroom reading clue cards, eliminating suspects, and piecing together the mystery — identifying Who, Where, What and When.
This immersive EFL group activity combines reading comprehension, speaking, reasoning, and vocabulary building in a format inspired by classic murder mystery games. With character cards, a detective grid, clue sheets, and optional themed decorations, it’s perfect for themed weeks, end-of-term fun, or Shakespeare-inspired learning.
