Family and Friends | EFL Resource Pack

The Family and Friends EFL Resource Pack is a ready-to-use collection of nine engaging activities designed to help English learners explore real-life relationships — from family roles and friendships to pets, parent-isms and life milestones. With a balance of meaningful reflection and light-hearted fun, it’s ideal for learners across a range of levels.

3. People in My Life – A creative resource where students use diagrams like webs and circles to reflect on key people in their lives and explore identity through language.
4. What Families Say – A two-part speaking and guessing game using familiar sayings and character cards to explore tone, context, and who’s likely to say what.
5. Redeem This! Friendship Vouchers – A reflective writing task where students create thoughtful “vouchers” to give to friends or someone close to them.
6. Man’s Best Friend – A light-hearted dog breed quiz with fun and unusual facts. Students bet on their answers, using listening, vocabulary and reasoning skills in groups.
7. The Path Ahead – Life Milestones Board Game – A speaking game where students move through life stages and respond to creative prompts. Includes disruptor squares, pair tasks, and a range of challenge cards. 
8. Drama or Reality? – A reading and project activity where students explore how reality TV shows portray relationships, then design their own programme.
9. Young Carers – A thoughtful reading and discussion task introducing the lives of young carers, with follow-up questions to develop empathy and language fluency.

With a variety of activities to suit different learners and skills, this pack is ideal for building vocabulary, supporting personal expression, and getting students speaking.
